HopHunt is a free online asymmetric horror game in the style of Dead by Daylight that you play in your web browser. One player is the hunter and four are runners, trapped at night in Hopland, an abandoned fairground. Runners repair beacons to power the exit gates and escape; the hunter downs them, carries them to cages and tries to take all four. There is nothing to download, and bots fill any empty seat.

What is HopHunt?
Looking for a free game like Dead by Daylight that runs in a browser tab? This is it: the same one-against-four hunter and runners idea, with its own monsters, map and perks. Play online with up to four friends, or launch alone and let bots take the other seats.
Runners play in third person as their own character. Repair 5 of the 7 Hop beacons, hit the skill checks (a miss sets off sparks the hunter can hear), then hold a switch to open an exit gate. Vault through ticket-booth windows, pull signboards down on the hunter, hide in prize trunks, heal your friends and break them out of cages. When only one runner is left, the rabbit hole opens.
The hunter plays in first person as one of three monsters. The Lamplighter puts out the fair’s lamps and walks out of any unlit one. The Hound Mother sends her hound down your scratch marks to pin you. The Hollow turns invisible and silent, then lunges out of the dark. Each side brings four perks, unlocked as you play.

HopHunt tips
- Only sprint when you need to: sprinting leaves scratch marks the hunter can follow.
- Stop the skill-check needle in the bright zone for a bonus. A miss makes a loud spark.
- Pull a signboard down as the hunter runs under it to stun them for two seconds.
- Vault the same window three times in 15 seconds and it gets boarded up.
- As the hunter, listen for spark bursts: they mean someone just missed a skill check.
How to play HopHunt with friends
- Pick the game. Go to hoplobby.com/games and tap Play on HopHunt.
- Open a lobby. Type a nickname and tap Create HopHunt lobby. No account needed.
- Send one link. Share the lobby link or its six-character code. Friends join from their own browser, and when everyone is ready the game opens full screen for the whole lobby.
Alone, you can play either side: hunt four bot runners, or run with three bot teammates against a bot hunter, on Easy, Normal or Hard.
